Membership Categories

The club acknowledges that not everyone who would like to swim with us is able to attend every session available to them; especially students living away from home, Masters Swimmers who are unable to commit to regular training sessions as well as swimmers who swim elsewhere and could swim for the club competitively as second claim swimmers. Our membership categories reflect this.

Each membership category has a fee package associated with it. The membership categories are detailed below.

Full Swimmer
This is anyone who joins the club and swims in allocated sessions and therefore pays the full monthly fee applying to their squad. They are also required to pay their Swim England registration fee.

Please note – only those aged over 18 years are allowed to vote on club issues at AGMs.

Concessionary Member
A swimmer aged 18+ who is attending full time education at a place geographically removed from the local area i.e. 40+ miles and living away. Student swimmers are required to pay the concessionary monthly fee.

If a student swimmer attends more than 12 sessions per annum they are no longer eligible for this concession and will be asked to pay the full rate for their particular squad.

A swimmer aged 19+ who wishes to compete in Masters Competitions for GDSC but cannot commit to regular training sessions. Infrequent Masters swimmers are required to pay the concessionary monthly fee.

If an Infrequent Master swimmer attends more than 12 sessions per annum they are no longer eligible for this concession and will be asked to pay the full rate for their particular squad.

A member aged 18 or over who swims but also holds a position within the club. This can include:
